“Interlegal” participated in the International conference in Maritime Law

On the 5th – 6th of December there was held the 8th International Scientific and Practical conference “Maritime Law: History, Modernity, Development Prospects” at the Odessa National Maritime Academy. Two representatives of “Interlegal” took part therein.

On the 5th of December 2013 there was held a session “International Private Law”. In this session Vyacheslav Lebedev, adviser of International Law Firm “Interlegal”, senior teacher of the Odessa Institute of Entrepreneurship and Law, presented a report “Vessel Arrest in Black Sea Countries”. The report enlightened key aspects of the vessel arrest procedure at key ports of Black Sea jurisdictions from the points of view of national legislations procedure norms and their compliance with international conventions. Many other scientists and teachers as well as students (potential lawyers and economists) also presented their reports.

Each report was interesting due to the problems stated and proposed ways of settlement.

Next day, in the framework of the conference, Andrey Perepelitsa, lawyer of “Interlegal”, gave a master class “Cargo Claims. Vessels Arrest in Ukraine”. This presentation enlightened algorithms of practical lawyers’ work upon settlement of cargo claims and studied the practice of law application by Ukrainian courts in respect of vessels arrest. The reporter answered many questions of the conference’s delegates who actively performed in debates.
