The partners of the conference, International Law Offices (Ukraine), Nikolay Melnykov ana Arthur Nitsevich, made a presentation ‘Modern Risks in Sea Shipping. Post-Crisis Period’. The speakers introduced a non-standard approach: they involved the participants into discussion from the very beginning. Has the crisis passed? Such a simple question may lead to a number of comments and set the tone of the discussion if focused on the particular audience.

Natalia Myroshnychenko, Senior Lawyer of International Law Office (Ukraine) held a master class Risk Management in Sea Carriages.

The master class covered such issues as:

The cargo can be lost or damaged in the process of carriage. The sea carrier must be sure that its interests are protected and liability is duly limited.

How to protect the sea carrier?
Does P&I policy cover the required risks?
Cargo insurance: a possibility to release the carrier from liability or additional problems for the carrier?
The particular circumstances of the risks and the possible ways for solving the problems basing upon the real cases from the practice of International Law Offices were discussed within the framework of the Master Class.

The Master Class was in the interactive form that provided the active and vivid discussion of the participants.

The conference was successful. The organizers demonstrated a high level of the event and the speeches were very interesting and informative.

The organizers are planning to hold the next conference of 2012 in Odessa together with International Law Offices and International Business Forum (IBF).
